The title from this mixed media painting "Out There" is inspired from JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit", "The world is not in your maps and books.  It's OUT THERE".  I wanted this painting to be fun and whimsical playing with an underlying theme of travel and exploration.  An old map of Europe and South Africa was used for the collage.  Paint patterns and alcohol ink were then applied, and finally a drawing of our wandering camels which were painted with acrylic.  I like the idea of families or a group of people (or camels) traveling together, sharing their adventures with one another as they explore this beautiful, wonderful, multi-colored world.  Painted on 11x14 inch panel, ready to hang!
